I was saddened to hear that Polish poet Wislawa Szymborska passed away yesterday. She was 88 years old, and died in her sleep of lung cancer. Szymborska won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1996, though I only discovered her a few years ago. Very saddened to hear the news of the passing of comedian Patrice O'Neal. Loved that guy, when he wasn't making me super uncomfortable with one of his more explicit bits.

I'll always remember him for his Receipts/PaperTrail routine, which is one of my all time favorites:

Did anyone catch this past weekend's This American Life? Craziest thing I've heard in a really long time. rickenbacker and I caught it on our drive up to Pittsburgh on Saturday; must have exchanged about a dozen incredulous expressions, easy.
